Doors opening everywhere!
It’s been a whirlwind of productivity ( and therefore a lot of mess in my house) these last few weeks. So much to tell you about. Maybe I’d better work backwards.
I’ve just returned from the international Tunbridge Wells Puppetry festival where I brought my show ‘The Magical World of Hullabaloo’ for the first time. The songs and stories are written by me and aim to humorously introduce children to animals and nature. I’m influenced by shows from my childhood such as the Muppets, the Magic Roundabout and Bagpuss. I met some fantastic people and was bowled over by the reception the puppets and I received.
The week before found me at the spoken word poetry night run by Poetical Word to mark the end of the summer solstice which is hosted by the incredibly creative and hospitable Anima. I read my poems ‘The Aha Pixies’ and a new one ‘Wishing’
I write my songs and poems in a book specially made for me which was a Christmas present from my sister Caroline. As she is no longer with us this book has taken on increasing importance for me as though some essence of her is still somewhere in the pages. I hope so.
